Gonna say first: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to Chase Petra; they're so fucking good.
But I wanna ramble about their concert last night because it was our first ever and was really just... I mean, that was a fucking spiritual experience. Most of the songs were pretty standard fun singing with the crowd, but a couple had me about to fucking bawl.
IDK, there's just something so fucking powerful hearing a bunch of queer folks from Oklahoma yelling along lyrics like "life is one long fight / and the future's filled with tears / but who cares, I'm still here / want that to be clear" that was so fucking powerful. And, like, fucking hearing people sing Have Faith, Horatio and A Bug's Life and Nature vs. Nurture and every other song they played that I've been so heavily relating to and crying to for months and years was– oh my god. There's something so human about it. Like, realizing that other people feel the same way I do and love the same way I do and everythinggggg... I'm so shocked I didn't start crying when we were all belting Pacific and Hospital Bills because those are such impactful songs for me.
Also the openers were a ton of fun and seemed so sweet :]] They're local(-ish) bands and both had some amazing songs :]]] Definitely check out Keathley on Spotify!!!!!! (I am struggling to find the correct Sundrift, IDK if they just haven't released yet, but if I can find them, I'll link them too!!)
Edit 26/11: Sundrift!
